Steven O. Link, Ph.D, Senior Ecologist and Botanist
Dr. Link has more than 32 years experience as a research scientist and consultant with a variety of environmental projects in Minnesota, Arizona, Utah, California, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Ontario and over 22 years of experience on the Hanford Site. He is an expert in native plant restoration ecology, fire risk assessment and invasive weed control. Steve also has expertise with radioactive landfill cover design, xeriscaping, plant sensor development, ecosystem carbon budgets and global climate changes. His clientele includes federal agencies and their contractors, Tribal Nations, municipalities, utilities, commodity groups, insurance companies, industrial and commercial enterprises, lawyers, and non-profit organizations, and many citizens. He is the Editor of the Natural Areas Journal, Natural Areas Association; President of the Benton County Noxious Weed Control Board; and Science Advisor for the Washington State Noxious Weed Control Board. Steve is an effective communicator with over 430 publications in peer reviewed journal publications, books, technical reports, newsletters, newspaper articles, symposia, workshops, conferences, and letter reports. He also maintains teaching and research duties at Washington State University, and is a frequent contributor of natural history articles to the Tri-City Herald.
