Erika Garcia
Hydrogeologist
Erika Garcia is a hydrogeologist specializing in environmental investigation and remediation. She has supported RI/FS work, RCRA and CERCLA annual groundwater monitoring reports, and several field remediation pilot studies. She has experience in fate and transport groundwater modeling using MODFLOW and MT3D software for simulating hydrologic processes such as groundwater flow and contaminant transport. She has also done work in environmental risk assessment to quantify risk of CERCLA/RCRA sites.
Erika is trained to perform field work in hazardous and radioactive conditions. She has wellsite geology experience with a variety of drilling methods and collected sediment and groundwater samples. In addition, Erika is skilled in the use of geographic information systems, analytical geochemistry and software applications for environmental analysis. Her Master’s thesis involved dissolution of DNAPLs using various flushing agents and characterizing preferential flow paths in heterogeneous soil.
