Kim Schuyler

Geologist and Meteorologist

Kim is a geologist and performs environmental investigations.  Her academic emphasis is sedimentology.  She has well site geology experience including construction of shallow monitoring wells using air, sonic and cable tool drilling methods, and the collection of vadose and aquifer sediment samples while installing monitoring wells.

Kim also supports preparation of borehole summary reports that include descriptions of geologic logs, geophysical logs and drilling activities.  As part of a large scale characterization of carbon tetrachloride contamination at the Hanford Site, Kim oversees vapor sampling at the vadose-atmosphere and the vadose-groundwater interfaces, and performs field screening and analysis. She is trained to perform field work in hazardous and radioactive conditions.

Kim is also a degreed meteorologist.  She has academic training in use of GARP software and writing program code for different atmospheric models to compile daily and weekly forecasts, and atmospheric pressure modeling.  She is experienced with on-air broadcasting tools (GENESIS and LIVE) and has prepared publicly viewed forecasts. In addition, she has organized and directed severe weather/tornado chases.
