Patrick Cabbage
Geologist
Pat Cabbage is a geologist and specializes in environmental investigations and also supports groundwater resource evaluations. His academic emphasis is in sedimentology and stratigraphy.
He has wellsite geology experience including construction of shallow monitoring wells using cable tool drilling methods and the collection of vadose and aquifer sediment samples while installing monitoring wells. He also has experience with various field methods for determining aquifer properties.
Pat is trained to perform field work in hazardous and radioactive conditions. In addition, he is experienced in the use of HydroGeo Analyst software for geodata management and graphical output, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and in field and laboratory procedures for analytical geochemistry.
Pat’s thesis research involved a detailed study of glacial outburst flood sediments of the northern Channeled Scabland in central Washington. He used detrital zircon geochronology within a sedimentologic and stratigraphic context to constrain the provenances of flood-derived sediments. The research required extensive field work in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia and intricate laboratory preparations and geochemical analysis.
